  Home Guards  

OPERATION:

Besides the deputation of Home Guards in the various courses of training, during the year 2008-2009, Home Guard volunteers were deployed with Police to maintain law and order, traffic and patrolling duties, guarding of vital installations, manning of treasuries/sub-treasuries, maintenance of Law and Order during fairs and festivals and besides security duties at temples and zonal hospitals. In addition to this women Home Guard volunteers were also deployed for nursing training in the Hospitals.  They were also attached to Fire Stations to assist the fire staff in fire fighting operations.
The details regarding the deployment of Home Guards in the year 2008-2009 are as under:-

  Civil Defence  

AIMS AND OBJECT:

The Aims of this Organisation are:-  
(a)              To Protect/Save life.
(b)              To Minimize damage to property.
(c)              To maintain continuity of production uninterruptedly.
(d)              To maintain the morale of general public.


POLICY:  

The following broad policy has been laid down under which Civil Defence measures are taken in the state:-  
(i)          The Civil Defence arrangement should be confined to selected places and vital installations.  
(ii)          Civil Defence is to be organized primarily on voluntary basis.  
(iii)         Evacuation schemes are to be prepared only for border area.  
(iv)         Speedy Black out measures are to be planned.
